Greetings, fellow feline fans. Let's take a moment to appreciate the wonderfully strange creatures we share our homes with. Cats. Mysterious, mischievous, and magnificently ridiculous. They do what they want, when they want, and how they want, regardless of what you, your furniture, or common sense has to say about it. Attempts to train them often end in chaos, confusion, or a very pointed look of disapproval. Because cats don't follow rules. They follow vibes. At the end of the day, cats are going to engage in totally 'normal' feline behavior. And by totally 'normal' feline behavior, we mean that they will always be complete and utter derps.

Now, within the chaos of catkind lies something even more delightful, the glorious art of the derp. Derpiness in cats comes in many forms: the accidental somersault, the surprise attack on invisible enemies, the bewildered stare into nothingness. It's a momentary lapse in elegance, a charming blip in their otherwise majestic demeanor. Today, we celebrate those moments. We've gathered a delightful medley of cats caught mid-derp, featuring wide-eyed weirdness, awkward poses, and confused expressions.

Raising a cat? Oh, you mean signing up for the daily chaos of a four-legged toddler who naps 16 hours a day and still has the audacity to act like they run the place? Yeah, that sounds about right.

Being a cat pawrent means accepting that your fancy shelf decor is now a series of launching pads. Your bed? Shared. Your food? Stared at (at the very least). Your privacy? Nonexistent. Especially when you're in the bathroom. And if you've ever been personally victimized by a 3 AM zoomie attack or found a mysterious hairball in your shoe, congratulations! You're truly living that cat child experience.

But despite the drama, the sass, the random bouts of destruction, we wouldn't trade it for anything. Because when that little damage goblin curls up in your lap like you were the one who knocked over the water glass and bit the laptop charger, it's all worth it. So here's to the wild ride of feline parenthood! All there's left for you to do is embrace it with some cat memes that capture the rollercoaster that is raising a cat child: claws, chaos, cuddles and all.

There's nothing we want more in life than a velcro cat, feline fam. More than money, more than a raise, more than winning the lottery, we want a cat to literally need to be next to us at all times. Because right now, we're going and stealing our cats while they're sleeping and forcing them to cuddle with us until they get up and walk away. So we can't imagine ever returning a cat for being "too needy", we're ready to return our cats for not being needy enough! We're joking, of course, we would never give up one of our cats… but they could show us a little more love from time to time.

Meet Toblerone (formerly named Joel), who was adopted with a sibling kitten from a shelter, and then returned to said shelter for being too affectionate. All seemed lost for Joel, until one family saw his heart and accepted his love. Now he's Toblerone, and he's purrfectly purring with his new hoomans. Scroll down to see more of him below!

My Dad sent this message to me over Facebook Messenger the night before I was supposed to fly home from a trip to Paris. . .
He died last year. I listen to this message every time I fly now.

I got these text messages from my dad after my mother confessed he wasn’t actually my biological dad. I’m 31 years old and this is the first I knew of it.

More to me then any jewel that can be found, love always Papa

thing

This is the last Christmas card I ever got from my dad. He had a fatal stroke on the day before Christmas 5 years ago. He was right – I’ve had some amazing adventures since – a doctorate, a Fulbright, a ton of travel, lots of love and now totally ready to work on the toughest of problems.

Ironically, I also don’t sleep much… My research assistants always laugh when I send them emails at 3 am. But I’m dreaming up solutions to problems and they just can’t wait…

Hey Frank,

I’m a long time post-secreter (is that a thing? If no, it totally is now!) from Cape Town South Africa.

I don’t how I stumbled upon you, maybe part All American Rejects part Facebook when it really was a thing – all I know is that I make sure that I am part of that view count every Sunday!

I remember that there have been times when you posted questions that you posted to your father before his transition… My grandmother is en route too, and we have this super complicated relationship, but I think these would be a great avenue for healing ( for both me and my mom).

Would you please send me those questions, or repost them on Sunday? I’d love to use them for the little time we have left before the Big C takes her from us.

Much love to the Post Secret Family!

25 Dad Questions

Posted by Frank

I asked PostSecret followers on facebook for once-in-a-lifetime questions to ask my dad for an unforgettable interview. Over 700 replies with more than 1,000 questions came back.

This was the original post:

I was thrilled with all the thoughtful questions shared with me, from the delightful to the profound. I read them all and picked 25 to ask my father. At a family dinner the night before our day of tandem paragliding, as an experiment, I peppered three into our conversation. . . it didn’t go well.

Like many families, ours was far from perfect, with divorce and estrangement being a part of it. So when other family members began responding to some of my father’s answers, long-buried feelings and some judgement turned the interview sour. Because of that learning experience, I changed some of my questions and gained three insights for when I would try again the next day.

• Avoid questions about regrets or mistakes. Instead, start with questions that include the word “favorite”, like, “What’s your favorite decade and why”?
• Try to keep the questions open-ended and let responses spark other questions naturally. Aim for a flowing conversation rather than an interview.
• Really listen. . . No, really listen.

On the two hour drive to the Gliderport the next day, it was just my father and me in the car. I told him how much it meant to me to go through these questions and get to know him better. He was game so I cautiously started. He passed on some of the questions, but then really began to share a lot with me, including a secret. He even started asking me some of the same questions! The spirit in the car was supportive and generous, with some heartfelt laughs as we used questions as prompts for our once-in-a-lifetime conversation.

Even though we were unable to do any gliding because of wind conditions, I’ll never forget that day and the new appreciation I discovered for my father. I can’t reveal the secret he told me but another part of our conversation shocked me. I asked this gentle and caring man; “What is the most common misconception people have about you?” He said. “When I was ten-years-old, my mom spanked me for the last time. I don’t think you know how stubborn I was then but you do know how stern your Grandmother could be. I remember through my tears and pain looking at my mother and saying, with spite, ‘I like getting spanked’!”

Here are the 25 questions that guided our conversation.

~~~
Do you have a favorite snack, song, television show, recipe, comedy?
Can you tell me about your best friend when you were a kid and one of your adventures?
Can you describe a favorite memory about a family member?
What is the oldest story you know about our ancestors?
Is there something about me that you have always wanted to know but have never asked?
If this was to be our very last conversation, is there anything you would want to say to me?
What is your first memory?
Did you ever get into trouble as a kid? What happened?
If there was a biography of you, how would you want to be described?
What choice are you thankful that you did not make?
What is the best advice you remember from your father?
Is there anything you wish you had said to someone but didn’t have the chance?
Can you teach me something?
What is something you would like me to ask you?”
What do you wish you would have spent less time worrying about?
What is something you deliberately did not tell me as a child and why?
What is the best part of your day? What makes you feel most alive?
What is the last thing you changed your mind about?
What things helped you get through a difficult time in your life?
Over the course of your life what trip or place was most special? Why?
What would you like to re-experience again because you did not appreciate it enough the first time?
Can you tell me something about yourself that I don’t know that you think would surprise, shock or delight me?
What habits served you the most through life?
What is the best mistake you have made, and why?
What do you hope my siblings and I have learned from you?
How are you doing right now? Is there anything on your mind right now that you’d like to talk about?
~~~

(When my father visits again, I’ll be sure to have his favorite comedy and snack ready.)

Dear Frank,

I recognized my dad’s card as soon as I saw it. All of us kids sat him down tonight and asked him about it- turns out it was written and sent a year ago, when my mom had just broken his heart, and he was hopelessly lost.

Now a year later, he’s healthier than he’s been in years, our family is closer than ever, and, thanks to the strange blessing of PostSecret, tonight we all had the opportunity to share our appreciation, love and support of one another.

My dad is working on a follow-up postcard to reassure you and the supportive PostSecret Community. This whole process has been incredibly therapeutic for him and for us kids too.

Hey there, cool kids. Yes, we still call ourselves that, even though most of us have been out of school for a hot minute. Age is just a number, and the joy we get from silly cat content keeps our spirits young and fresh. Speaking of silly, today's featured feline photos are all about drama, flair, and big opinions.

We've put together a delightful collection of cats caught mid-meow, mid-yawn, or mid-whine, mouths wide open and expressions full of personality. Each snapshot looks like a kitty giving a passionate TED Talk on the injustices of snack rations, the cruelty of closed doors, or the unacceptable delay between breakfast and second breakfast. Honestly, we feel for them. To be fair, these cats are living the good life: endless naps, sunbeams, and hoomans who worship the ground they walk on. But that doesn't stop them from loudly voicing their thoughts every chance they get.

You did it! You clawed your way through another week, and your reward? A crisp, satisfying cat high five. These fabulous felines are here to celebrate your weekend victory with a flurry of pawsitive vibes and toe bean taps. Whether you powered through endless Zoom calls, clawed your way out of deadlines, or simply survived the chaos of existing, these cats say: paws up, you earned this.

Some are mid-air, executing high-flying five-star slaps worthy of a meow-lion dollar action movie. Others are gently extending a single, majestic paw, the feline equivalent of a respectful nod. And yes, a few are definitely just reaching for treats, but let's not ruin the moment.

This is more than just a fuzzy gesture. It's a weekly ritual of resilience. A tiny, whiskered cheer squad saying, "You're pawsome, don't furget it." So raise your hand, match that paw, and soak in the glory. Because if anyone knows how to lounge after a long week, it's cats. And they say the weekend is officially in session. Paws for celebration. High fives all around.

There's no greater gift to the internet than a cat photographed with the .5x lens. It turns your majestic feline into a wide-eyed, creature from another realm. One second they're lounging like royalty, the next they look like they're about to drop the hottest mixtape of 2025.

The .5 lens stretches their noses into snoots of legend, enlarges their paws to cartoonish proportions, and shrinks their back ends into oblivion. It's not just a photo. It's a full-on cinematic experience. Your cat becomes a fuzzy hallway gremlin or a startled potato, depending on the angle and how close they got to the lens while investigating your phone with judgmental eyes.

Somehow, every .5 pic says, "I didn't ask for this," while simultaneously looking like your cat is ready to take over the world, or at least knock everything off the counter first. And if they look ridiculous? Good. That's the point. Long live the .5 cats. Stretched, squashed, and absolutely iconic.

This whole situation is a total catastrophe. The roommate's behavior has been nothing short of clawful, from leaving dirty dishes and food out for days to completely neglecting litter box duties. Despite previously pawmising to care for "his" cat, he's proven time and again that he's unwilling or unable to meet even the bare minimum of responsible pet care.

Meanwhile, the two cats who were adopted together have formed a rare and beautiful furiendship. They nap together, groom each other, and play like lifelong littermates. One of them struggles with anxiety, but is noticeably more confident and calm when his best buddy is by his side. Separating them would be more than sad, it would be purrticularly damaging to their wellbeing.

The concern here isn't just about cleanliness (though that's bad enough); it's about safety and emotional health. With one human clearly committed to their care and the other showing repeated neglect, it's pretty pawvious who should keep both cats. These bonded babies deserve to stay together in a loving, clean, and purroperly cared-for home.

Imagine, just for a second, a world without cat memes. No silly floofs doing dramatic chaos. No bleps, no loafs, no "if I fits, I sits." Just… silence. Honestly? Someone would have to invent cat memes immediately. Because the combo of feline absurdity and meme-worthy meowments is simply too powerful not to exist.

Now, we can't even begin to picture a world with no cats. That's just too dark. But a world with no memes? That used to be real. There were thousands of years of hooman civilization with zero cat memes. Not a single LOLcat carved into stone. It's truly shocking. But we like to believe that even if the internet hadn't come along, someone, somewhere, would've still started doodling ridiculous cats and sharing them for laughs.

So on this glorious Caturday, let's appreciate that we live in the golden age of cat memes. They're here. They're purrfect. And they're ready to make your day 1000% better. Go ahead - scroll, giggle, and celebrate the fluff.

It's Caturday, hoomans! The sacred day of the week when alarms are ignored, chores are postponed, and all plans are gently shoved aside in favor of cuddling with our favorite floofy overlords. Can you really blame anyone for dedicating their Saturday to cat appreciation? Of course not. Cats are one of the greatest gifts hoomanity has ever received: mysterious, majestic, and mildly judgmental.

Think about it: to earn a cat's affection, you need patience, kindness, respect… basically, to be the best version of yourself. And when you do earn it? Oh, the reward is divine. A gentle purr. A slow blink. A warm loaf nap on your chest. That's the stuff that grows hooman hearts three sizes bigger.

So this Caturday, grab your cup of coffee (or maybe a saucer of milk?), scoop up your whiskered roomie, and scroll through these adorable, wholesome cat memes. It's the ultimate way to celebrate the fluff, the sass, and the absolute joy that is feline life.

Do you know how we became a writer for I Can Has Cheezburger, feline fam? It's a purrfectly interesting story. We were posting some pawdorable pictures of our cats' tiny toe beans on Reddit, when one of the commenters noted that there was a whole website that was devoted to cute cat pics such as these! As curious as any cat would be, we clicked on the link, and we found ourselves in the holy land of cat content.

We scrolled through listicle after listicle - anything from cats taking over your board games (and the world) to hissterical memes that we just couldn't get enough of. We wrote to one of the editors, expressing how much we love cats and writing about them… and the rest is history. Now we're here, doing what we love: sharing wholesome cat pics with you that bring us joy, and if you're anything like us, they will bring you joy as well. So get to scrolling, and from one cat purrson to another - have a pawsitively great day!

It's been a long week, we know. We've been working hard, really putting in the effort to… stay sane. Although, to be honest we feel like we have been saying that every week. And each and every week, there is one thing - one consistent purrfect thing - that really helps us start each day on the right paw, and that is, of course, cats.

We're talking about all the hilarious cat tweets that pop in the midst of all the other craziness on that app. We're talking about the silly cat memes that everyone loves no matter what's happening in the world. And we're talking about the wholesome cat stories that the internet has made go viral. If you can count on one thing bringing everyone together, it really is cats. So, welcome to your weekly Caturday meowgazine, where we put together all the cat stories, memes, and tweets that have made people come together throughout the week in one purrfect article.

When we say that we want to adopt a lion, we mean that with our whole entire hearts. Of course, we won't do it… most likely. We know that it's bad for the lions and that it is going to be mildly unsafe for us, but that doesn't mean that we don't want to. And it doesn't mean that we don't fawn over lions at every opportunity that we can get our paws one. Because really, once you watch them closely enough and for long enough, you realize that lions are like little house cats. They behave the same.

Lions love to snuggle and be affectionate, just like our kitties do. Lions miss their chosen humans when they are gone for long periods of time. And, just like our little kitties, if you annoy a lion, it is going to be petty as heck and do something equally silly to get revenge. You see it al the time when lions annoy their pawrents on purpose, but we can honestly say that this is the first time we have seen a lion deliberately be petty towards his siblings. And yes, it is exactly as hilarious as you think it is.
